The Whisper Me a Love Song manga series is getting a stage play adaptation which will be showing from July 26 to August 2 at the Theater1010 in Tokyo. A key visual was also revealed along with the stage play’s cast and staff.
Tomoyuki Ueno is directing the stage play with Yuniko Ayana writing the script and Takuya Kusunose as the musical director. The cast includes:
- Yui Watanabe as Himari Kino
- Momoka Ishii as Yori Asanagi
- Yuki Tenma as Miki Mizuguchi
- Nagisa Hayakawa as Mari Tsutsui
- Nanase Kayama as Kaori Tachibana
- Chiyuri Ito as Shiho Izumi
- Shiori Nishikado as Momoka Satomiya
- Kaede Sakuragi as Hajime Amasawa
The stage play adaptation is based on the manga written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima which was initially serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime in 2019. Kodansha Comics is licensing the manga in English they described the first volume as follows:
Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she begins to ask herself what “love” really means
The manga also inspired an anime which is currently ongoing. Akira Mano is directing the series at studio Cloud Hearts while Hiroki Uchida wrote the scripts and Minami Yoshida designed the characters. HIDIVE is streaming the anime.
