The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 anime revealed the ending video for the Ancient City Insurrection arc, featuring the theme song “This Shion Bouquet” by ASCA. The last of the three arcs begins today with episode 9. Check out the ending video below.
Previously both the Double Seven and Steeplechase Chapter arcs had their own theme songs, while LiSA performs the opening song “Shouted Serenade”.
Jimmy Stone is directing the latest season of the anime at studio 8Bit. Kana Ishida is in charge of the character designs, Taku Iwasaki is working on the music, and Muneo Nakamoto is in charge of the script.
The Irregular at Magic High School series started with a web novel by Tsutomu Sato. Originally published on Shosetsuka ni Naro, Dengeki Bunko published it in light novel format in 2011. Manga adaptations of each arc also exist. The Irregular at Magic High School: Magian Company sequel started in 2020.
The first season of the anime by studio MADHOUSE aired in Spring 2014, while the Visitor Arc sequel (season 2) followed in Fall 2020. MADHOUSE animated the first season, but studio 8bit took over for the second one. The prequel, The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc (also 8bit) aired on December 31, 2021.
The franchise also has a movie from 2017, titled The Girl Who Summons the Stars (studio 8-bit). Spin-off anime The Honor at Magic High School by studio CONNECT aired throughout the Summer 2021 season.
