The live-action adaptation is based on the Oshi no Ko manga series written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump has been serializing the series since April 23, 2020, and has 13 volumes currently.

The manga inspired an anime that premiered in April 2023 by studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie). A second season of the anime is set to release this July 3.
