The resurgence of the Nasuverse seems a certainty, with a release window for Fate/EXTRA Record coming just a day after a surprise release date for Fate/stay night REMASTERED and the unexpected announcement of Fate/hollow ataraxia REMASTERED. Fate/Extra Record will release for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
You can watch the Fate/EXTRA Record trailer below:
Originally released for the PlayStation Portable in 2010, Fate/Extra received a direct sequel in Fate/Extra CCC and two “musou”-style action games as Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star and Fate/Extella Link. Studio shaft animated the Fate/Extra Last Encore series in 2018.
Fate/Extra follows a male or female protagonist canonically named Hakuno Kishinami who finds themselves in a strange version of the Holy Grail War set inside the moon, a statement that will either make complete sense to Fate fans, or definitely confuse outsiders. The player can choose from one of several servants in the form of Nero (Saber), Tamamo (Caster), and Emiya (Archer) to participate in turn-based combat.
No official announcement of an English localization has been given at this time; however Fate/Extra did receive a Western release in 2021 via Aksys Games, so an English release would not be unexpected.
