LiSA Gets Citizen's Honor Award from Her Hometown

LiSA is the second person in the city’s 70-year history to receive the honor award from her hometown, Seki. Mayor of Seki City in Gifu prefecture, Kenji Ozeki, announced on February 10, 2021, that he is presenting the Citizen’s Honor Ward to LiSA. Yes, the same LiSA that we know from countless Sword Art Online and Demon Slayer openings.

What’s more, Ozeki is sending LiSA an imitation sword adorned with her name. Also, the decision for the award to be a sword came from a vote of 1,500 junior high school students from the city. The first person to receive the award was Yoshinori Tsuchiya for his Monsha weaving skills.

Both LiSA and Demon Slayer are getting more and more rewards. Not only was the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train nominated for Best Animated Feature Oscar, it made an extremely big amount of money as well. LiSA’s Homura also got countless rewards, it even won the Song of the Year award in Japan! Now, with the Citizen’s Honor Award, LiSA can add another big achievement to the list!
