With You and the Rain TV anime revealed a new visual and July 2025 release date, along with the first information on the voice cast and staff. Studio Lesprit will animate the show, with Tomohiro Tsukimisato as director, Ayano Owada as the character designer, and Toko Machida in charge of the series composition.
The director commented: “I aimed to create a gentle and immersive world on film, one where the beauty and humor of the original work coexist in harmony. I hope this piece becomes a soothing presence, just like Tanuki… always by your side, offering comfort.”
Saori Hayami leads the With You and the Rain anime voice cast, which includes:
- Saori Hayami as Fuji
- Yuna Kamakura as Mimi
- Satomi Sato as Ren
- Yuzu Yumoto as Kii Ella Krause

Satomi Sato: “I’m Satomi Sato, playing the role of Ren. I’ve been a big fan of Yukiko Nikaido-sensei’s works, and I was already captivated by With You and the Rain. When I found out I got the role of Ren, I couldn’t help but scream with joy—it was loud enough to echo throughout the office! Ren has a fluffy and carefree personality, but her gentle gaze and thoughtful words always bring warmth to those around her. The With You and the Rain anime was announced in August 2024 and is adapting the manga by Ko Nikaido. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine seinen magazine since August 2020, with 7 volumes published as of September 5. Kodansha licensed the series in English, describing the story of the first volume:
If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog and insists it’s a dog, it’s…a dog? Probably? She adopted it anyway, and her life with this “dog” will never be boring!
