Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in Osaka has revealed details for its 2025 Halloween event, set to begin in September, and will bring back its collaboration with the popular Chainsaw Man anime. The event will feature returning 4D and roller coaster attractions inspired by the series, along with a new street performance involving the recurring park character, Smiley.

Returning Attractions
Chainsaw Man: The Chaos 4-D
This 4D theater experience immerses guests in a battle between Chainsaw Man characters: Denji, Aki, Power, and Kobeni, along with a new original enemy, the “Devil of Halloween Horror Nights.” The attraction will feature “intense” visuals, including blood effects and unsettling sounds, aiming to offer a realistic dive into the anime’s world.

Chainsaw Man x Hollywood Dream – The Ride: KICK BACK – Katana vs. Chainsaw
Featuring the anime’s theme song “KICK BACK,” this roller coaster will be a high-speed ride that aims to recreate the fight between Chainsaw Man and Samurai Sword.

Chainsaw Man x Hollywood Dream – The Ride: KICK BACK
The backward version of the same coaster ride, known as “Backdrop,” is also getting a Chainsaw Man theme, with the added music and visuals to improve the experience.

New Attraction
Smiley’s Happy Halloween Greeting
Although not part of the Chainsaw Man universe, Smiley, a recurring original character from USJ’s Halloween Horror Nights, will debut in a new live street performance format in 2025. Smiley typically appears in horror-themed film parodies as a director and star, often changing form with each appearance. The new greeting area will be located near the Chainsaw Man 4D theater.

Tatsuki Fujimoto first started the Chainsaw Man manga in 2018. Part 1 ended in 2020 with a total of 97 chapters compiled into 11 volumes. Part 2 began in July 2022 and is currently ongoing. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.
The first anime season premiered in Fall 2023, and it ran for a total of 12 episodes. MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka said that the Chainsaw Man anime was a complete financial success. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc revealed a September 19 premiere date for Japan, with international release dates starting from September 24. It will start showing in U.S. theaters from October 29, 2025.
