The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You anime has been officially certified by Guinness World Records for featuring the longest monologue in a Japanese-language animation.

In Episode 24, the final episode of Season 2, protagonist Rentaro Aijo delivered a speech which totaled 7,453 Japanese characters, in which he described what he loves about each of his 100 girlfriends. The scene adapted a well-known moment from the original manga and was animated in full for the show’s finale.

Voice actor Wataru Kato, who plays Rentaro, was presented with the official Guinness World Records certificate at a ceremony held on June 25, 2025. You can watch the video below (via Guinness World Records official X):

A special event is planned for October 18, which will include a cast talk show and the first public screening of the full, uncut version of the monologue at normal speed. Previously, that version was included in the Blu-ray release only.

The anime is based on the manga series published in Weekly Young Jump since 2020. The story follows high school student Rentaro Aijo, who, after being rejected 100 times, is told by a love god that he is destined to meet 100 soulmates. If he fails to make any of them happy, the consequences will be fatal, leading him into creating the Rentaro Family.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation ran for 12 episodes from October to December 2023, while the sequel ended on March 30 this year. Bibury Animation Studios handled the animation for both, while Crunchyroll is streaming the anime worldwide.
