This week has been a massive one in the build-up to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, which premieres in Japan on July 18. A new trailer and a visual were released, teasing a confrontation between Zenitsu and Akaza. Akaza is the focus of the film, officially titled Akaza’s Return, and stars in the widely acclaimed new visual. The trailer has surpassed 40 million views across multiple social media platforms in less than 24 hours; Crunchyroll’s Chief Content Officer, Asa Suehira, teased a global theatrical rollout on an “unprecedented scale.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle globally, excluding Japan and select Asian territories. Ufotable will again be responsible for animation production. An excerpt from the official Infinity Castle synopsis reads:
As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.
The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle.
And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the Demons ignites.
