One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda drew Luffy and Pokémon mascot Pikachu in the official launch of a collaboration between Weekly Shonen Jump and the Pokémon franchise. For the special August 4 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, the magazine’s artists will each draw their series’ characters alongside Pokémon, in addition to item giveaways.

Artwork of Pikachu and Luffy from One Piece (by Eiichiro Oda), Totodile and Chinatsu from Blue Box (by Kouji Miura), and Blaziken and Roboco from Me & Roboco (by Shuhei Miyazaki) were released in advance, alongside a special poster. You can check them out below.

The preview for the next Weekly Shonen Jump issue revealed it will come with metal art boards, other items, and Mega Evolution giveaways. In other Shonen Jump news, fans globally may want to pay attention to anime licensor REMOW’s industry panel at Anime NYC next month. While no title was named, REMOW teases “a new [anime] title that fans have been waiting years to see animated.” It had been revealed in May that REMOW and Shueisha were co-producing a ‘beloved series from Weekly Shonen Jump that ended more than 15 years ago and still ranks among the top fan-requested titles for animation.’
