One Punch Man Season 3
The biggest name in the hands of J.C. Staff, One Punch Man Season 3, is also coming next season. Curiously, the director has not been revealed yet despite its premiere being so close. According to Studio 1 producer Atsushi Fujishiro, his team is the one working on it. It’s the same internal J.C. Staff studio that worked on Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive.
The known staff for One Punch Man Season 3 includes:
- Series Composition: Tomohiro Suzuki
- Character Design: Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, Ryosuke Shirokawa
- Music: Makoto Miyazaki
As far as the other two studios go, Studio 2’s Kaoru Suzuki confirmed that they would be starting production on the new A Certain series anime (which is most likely A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4 that was announced in February) anime shortly after DanMachi Season 5 ended.
Perhaps worrying were the words of Studio 3’s producer Kosuke Matsuo. He’d said that it “really felt like the whole team was stretching themselves to their limits” in its first year, where they worked on The Duke of Death and His Maid, Delico’s Nursery, and Honey Lemon Soda in succession. He also said that their next work would be Tamon’s B-Side, for which work was already in progress at that time (around early March 2025). That title is set to premiere in January 2026.
More About J.C. Staff
Founded on January 18, 1986, J.C. Staff today has a total of 235 employees, with 198 employed full-time. According to the official website, its animation department has 52 staff members, including 28 analog key animators, 16 digital key animators, and 4 analog and 4 digital in-between checkers. In practice, the department is organized into four analog key animation teams, three digital key animation teams, and an additional “action team” that specializes in complex sequences.
The production department has 42 staff across three main studios and a directing group. While not part of the production department itself, in-house 3D, art, finishing, and photography divisions are closely integrated, allowing frequent collaboration. The company operates under a two-shift system (“A shift: 10:00–20:00” and “B shift: 12:30–22:00”), which, according to the company, is designed “to prevent excessively long working hours” while accommodating frequent interaction with in-house departments and external creators.
Production is structured so that, in the company’s words, “colleagues and supervisors can always report, inform, and consult.” This is supported through open seating arrangements, daily and weekly meetings, and the use of internal chat tools to facilitate real-time communication. Individual producers typically handle two to three titles per year. Each production manager (the “desk”) leads a team of five to seven production progress staff, with workload shared within and between teams according to episode or creator needs.
