The Apothecary Diaries Announces Summer 2026 Special Event as ‘Anticipation for the Sequel Grows’

The Apothecary Diaries announced a new special event, Summer Garden Party 2026, scheduled for August 15, 2026, at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall in Japan. Aoi Yuki (Maomao) and Takeo Otsuka (Jinshi) will both be in attendance, with the event’s initial details reading:

As anticipation for the [anime] sequel grows, a special event titled ‘Garden Party’ will be held to liven up the summer of 2026! Additionally, it has been decided that a ticket application form for this event will be included as a bonus with the fourth volume of the Blu-ray of the second season of the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries, which will be released on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Event details will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned for further updates!

Two performances will be held at The Apothecary Diaries Special Event ~Summer Garden Party 2026~—one in the morning and the other in the evening. Fans will be looking forward to any information on the previously announced sequel to The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, which was announced following the season finale, and whose format remains unknown. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of The Apothecary Diaries as it aired in Japan. Norihiro Naganuma directed the first season, transitioning into a chief director role for Season 2 (helmed by Akinori Fudesaka). Toho Animation Studio and OLM were responsible for animation production. The anime adapts Natsu Hyuga’s novel series of the same name and is described:

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
