Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 revealed a new trailer featuring Reno Ichikawa showing off his new Numbered Kaiju Weapon. The anime previously released visuals for Gen Narumi and Isao Shinmoiya.
Episode 19 “The Wall,” which is the 7th episode of Season 2, will premiere on August 30. In this episode, Reno, who managed to successfully complete the 1-month period that he got in the previous episode, heads into his first battle equipped with the Numbered Weapon. Studio Production I.G is animating again, with Studio Khara back in charge of the creature designs. The anime previously revealed its theme songs through two trailers. The opening song is “You Can’t Run From Yourself” by Aurora, while OneRepublic is back to perform the new ending song “Beautiful Colors.”
Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform, and a total of 15 volumes has been published as of March. The manga series officially ended this week with Chapter 129. Viz Media is publishing it in English.
The game adaptation of the franchise, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, exceeded 750,000 million pre-registrations and is set to launch worldwide on August 31.
