BLUE LOCK announced that the anime will be returning for a third season (currently in production) bringing the Neo Egoist League arc to the screen. Additionally, it was revealed that BLUE LOCK will be adapted into a live-action film with a nationwide Japanese release set for Summer 2026, coinciding with the World Cup. These revelations both came at BLUELOCK EGOIST FESTA 2025 and are follow ups to success from the anime’s second season and the film BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-.

The series creators commented on the Season 3 announcement and shared their excitement with fans. Muneyuki Kaneshiro, creator of the original story, extended a congratulations to the entire production team.

“Season 3 is officially confirmed!!! We did it… Huge thanks to the entire Egoist production team…! This marks a brand-new beginning for Isagi and for us as well! We’ll be creating this with full ego, eyes spinning, and tongues out, so get on your knees and wait for it!”

Yusuke Nomura, illustrator of the BLUE LOCK manga, commented on the international players to come.

“It’s finally been announced! A brand-new anime series!! We’re finally bringing the Neo Egoist League to life on screen. The eccentric international players—who are even more intense than the Blue Lock team—are coming. Please wait for it!”

In addition to the anime, it was revealed that BLUE LOCK will for the first time be adapted into a live-action film. The film will be produced by CREDEUS, the studio behind the Kingdom and Golden Kamuy film series, as well as Kokuhou, Japan’s second-highest-grossing live action film of all time. Previously, the series had been adapted into a variety of stage plays. CK WORKS is in charge of executive production while Toho is in charge of the distribution of the film.
