Solo Leveling began as a web novel by Chugong, later receiving a web novel adaptation illustrated by Dubu (both published by D&C Media). The series later received an anime adaptation from studio A-1 Pictures (2 seasons). It’s officially described:

Solo Leveling is the hit anime adaptation of Chugong and Dubu’s web novel and webtoon, animated by A-1 Pictures. The story follows Sung Jinwoo, the world’s weakest hunter, who was chosen by the mysterious “system” after barely surviving a deadly dungeon raid. The system allows him to level up beyond human limits, turning him from prey to predator as he uncovers the dark truth behind the monster-infested dungeons.
