Created by ONE, the One Punch Man series started as a webcomic manga in 2009. It got a digital manga remake with art by Yusuke Murata in June 2012. The manga is serialized on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website, while Viz Media licensed it in English and is serializing it in Weekly Shonen Jump.

Studio MADHOUSE animated the breakout first season, which aired from October to December 2015. Studio J.C. Staff took over for season 2, which aired from April to July 2019. The 3rd season was announced in August last year.

The story follows Saitama, a man who became a hero for fun. He had his famous daily training regime for 3 years (100 pushups, 100 squats, 100 situps, 10km run), which got him so overpowered that he could take any opponent down with a single punch. Besides all the major villains or evildoers, Saitama also meets a bunch of quirky heroes from the Hero Association and is constantly getting underestimated while being the one to actually protect humanity. The third season will focus on the ‘Hero Hunter’ Garo.
