The results of the 2025 Anime Awards are now all out, and Izuku “Deku” Midoriya from My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON was voted as the Best Boy. With over 24,000 people voting, Deku finished ahead of Hikaru Indo from The Summer Hikaru Died and Loid Forger from SPY × FAMILY Season 3, along with the rest of the male character nominees.

This wasn’t the only award for My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON this year. The anime also took home several major categories, including Best Action Anime, Best Animation, Best Soundtrack, and Best Voice Cast. Deku’s voice actor, Daiki Yamashita, was also voted Best Male Seiyuu. The anime ranked 4th overall in the Anime of the Year voting. You can check the full AOTY ranking.
Kohei Horikoshi drew the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 until August 2024. The series ended last year after a 10-year run, getting numerous illustrations and messages for the conclusion.
The anime adaptation first premiered in April 2016 and has since become one of the most popular modern shonen franchises worldwide. It concluded with Episode 170 on December 13, 2025. The anime will celebrate its 10th anniversary starting on April 3, with new information to be revealed about the upcoming sequel episode titled “More.”
