Alice in Borderland Creator Will Release A New Manga This Year

Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits web manga site revealed that Alice in Borderland creator Haro Aso will be coming back with a new manga titled Noyu Girl (Natural Hot Spring Girl) this August. In this new project, he will be joined by manga artist Shirou Yoshida who adapted the television anime Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress for Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden.

Shogakukan described the manga as an “outdoor comedy” about a girl who goes around visiting natural hot springs. That means Haro is making something new this time. There is still little information about the series yet.

In his tweet (NSFW), Aso mentioned that preparations for the manga’s serialization are steadily progressing.

Haro Aso’s previous work: Alice in Borderland

Haro Aso is well-known for being the author of the hit manga series Alice In Borderland. His series was released on November 25, 2010 and ended on March 2, 2016. The manga had a total of 18 volumes and 87 chapters, it was also published on the Shounen Sunday Super Magazine alongside Bestiarius, Samurai High School, and Spriggan.

Years after the manga ended, a 2-volume sequel, Alice in Borderland Retry, is also released. The spinoff has concluded its run last February. Aside from this, the manga is adapted into an OVA in 2014 and an 8-episode live-action Netflix Original series in 2020.

Ryōhei Arisu will leave high school soon, but he’s trying to avoid thinking about his future. Late one night, when he’s hanging out with his friend Karube and his silly, girl-crazy friend Chota, they see fireworks. After one blindingly bright explosion, they find themselves waking up in a different world.

In this ‘Borderland,’ people are forced to either participate in deadly games or die. Will Chota, Karube, and Ryouhei be able to survive this dangerous new world, and is there a way they can get back to their original lives? (Synopsis from Shounen Sunday S)
