Variety reports that a new anime based on the iconic Scooby-Doo! IP, Yokoso Scooby-Doo! (Welcome, Scooby-Doo!), will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation, with OLM (The Apothecary Diaries (co-produced with Toho Animation Studio), Pokémon) handling animation. Tubi will stream the series exclusively in North America, while Cartoon Network will handle overseas streaming.
Matthew Lillard, long-time Shaggy voice actor and actor in the live-action film adaptations (2002, 2004), reprises his role in the Yokoso Scooby-Doo! anime. As does Frank Welker, who has similarly voiced Scooby for over 20 years.
Itsuro Kawasaki (Cardfight!! Vanguard (various), The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting) directs the anime series. Francisco Paredes (credited as a writer on Young Justice, Baby Shark’s Big Show!) is a producer. The anime is described:
While visiting Japan on the ultimate foodie adventure, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy unwittingly unleash hundreds of mythical monsters that are causing trouble across the country. With the help of Scooby’s uncle, Daisuke-Doo, along with new friends, a magical girl Yume and gadget whiz Takumi, the group embarks on an all-new mystery filled with monster chasing and fun chaos.
