The upcoming browser game The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles has surpassed 200,000 pre-registrations, according to publisher CTW.

The milestone unlocks a launch reward for all players, with Xiaolan set to be distributed free upon the game’s release.

Maomao was recently voted as 2025 Girl of the Year in our yearly awards, where the series won several other awards. CTW Cayman announced the game in July 2025.

The title is a simulation game based on The Apothecary Diaries franchise, developed for the G123 platform. We recently had the chance to interview CTW CEO Ryuichi Sasaki, who talked about G123 and why browser-based gaming is still relevant. The game will be free-to-play with in-game purchases.

Along with the milestone announcement, CTW also revealed a new visual featuring Maomao at a festival. You can check it out below:

Players can pre-register through multiple channels, including official social media accountsDiscordWhatsApp, and the game’s website.

Additional character illustrations are planned to be revealed as the campaign continues.

Natsu Hyuga writes the The Apothecary Diaries light novel, with illustrations by Toko Shino. The series is serialized by Shunfunotomo. The series has 2 manga adaptations, one written by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Nekokurage, and one written and illustrated by Minoji Kurata.

J-Novel Club is publishing the novel in English, while Squre Enix is publishing the manga. The story follows Maomao, a young apothecary who ends up getting sold to the emperor’s palace as a lowly servant. She’s not the type of character who can just stay obedient, so she ends up helping Jinshi, the handsome official at the palace.

The anime adaptation is set to mark both 2026 and 2027 with Season 3 and an original new movie.
