Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya‘s X account has announced that it will reveal new information about the franchise’s new film on July 20 at 6:00 PM (JST). The upcoming film will be a sequel to Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya – Licht Nameless Girl.
Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Franchise Details
The upcoming film and previous anime are based on the manga by Hiroshi Hiroyama.
Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya is a spin-off of Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night. The story features Illyasviel von Einzbern as the main character and diverges heavily from Fate/stay night. In this world, Illya von Einzbern and Rin Tohsaka are magical girls tasked with collecting the “Class Cards” of heroic spirits.
Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine has serialized all three of Hiroyama-sensei’s manga. These include:
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya — September 2007 and November 2008, and compiled into two volumes.
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei! — April 2029 and March 2021. Compiled into 5 volumes.
- Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!! — Began serialization in May 2012, currently ongoing, and compiled into 14 volumes.
In 2010, Kadokawa released a special chapter of the manga that featured characters from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga as an English omnibus. Silver Link has adapted the manga into several TV anime, film adaptations, and a comedic OVA.
Kadokawa Games adapted the manga into a Nintendo 3DS video game titled Prisma Illya. Depending on your region, the anime and movies are available on either Crunchyroll or HIDIVE.
