Garena has officially announced Palworld Online, a new mobile MMORPG based on Pocketpair’s hit survival game Palworld. Developed and published by Garena under an official license from Pocketpair, the title is scheduled to launch in 2026.

Unlike the original PC game, Palworld Online is built around an MMO experience. Players will be able to explore an open world, collect and raise Pals, build shared settlements, and take part in both cooperative and competitive multiplayer activities. The game will also have an original storyline with exclusive side stories.

According to Garena, the game will feature cooperative progression, allowing players to form groups, construct shared bases, challenge large-scale PvE encounters, and participate in PvP battles. Players can also visit one another’s settlements, hunt rare Pals together, and deploy captured creatures to automate crafting, production, and base defense.

The mobile version has also been designed with handheld play in mind, featuring a touch interface and optional one-tap controls for building, relocating structures, and managing Pals while aiming to preserve the depth of the original gameplay.

Garena President Terry Zhao said the company is working closely with Pocketpair to preserve the freedom and scale of Palworld while adapting it for mobile devices. Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe added that Garena’s experience in mobile publishing and live service operations made it a suitable partner for bringing “a new Palworld experience” to players worldwide.

Released in early access in 2024, Palworld became one of the year’s biggest gaming successes, selling millions of copies within days of launch and attracting widespread attention for its blend of creature collecting, survival crafting, automation, and multiplayer gameplay. Since then, Pocketpair has continued expanding the game with major content updates while pursuing new adaptations and licensing opportunities. The developer also made gameplay changes made in response to the patent lawsuit by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, including adjustments to creature summoning and travel mechanics.

Garena’s most popular games include Free Fire, which is getting an anime adaptation next year, alongside titles like Arena of Valor and Call of Duty: Mobile.
