Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Episode 3 is out! The comedy of this series is really amusing and I’m glad that it keeps up such a fun pace! Aside from the Black Spider becoming a servant to Makoto, the demi-space also suddenly becomes home to three more species – the Elder Dwarves, Mist Lizards, and the Alke! Honestly, Makoto’s shock is so silly. You can’t blame him for wanting to have human interaction as soon as possible. The episode is titled, “Human Shock.”
One of my favorites in this episode is definitely the presence of the Black Spider and the Greater Dragon Shen. They both are loyal, respectful, and protective of Makoto. While Shen serves in a noble samurai-ish kind of way, the Black Spider on the other hand is an elegant but terrifying fangirl.
Anyway, it’s interesting and ultimately entertaining to watch. They also get their new names, which is very important in every isekai story! Shen is Tomoe while the Spider is Mio.
Of course, we cannot forget Makoto’s new goal of following his parent’s path. He visits the nearest town but sadly gets driven away by the humans. He realizes that because of his curse, he cannot speak with them! This fuels his hatred for the goddess even more.
It’s really funny to see his reaction to this predicament. Fortunately, Emma teaches Makoto the Common language. Beren the Dwarf also gives him a special ring to control his menacing mana.
Two weeks later, Makoto can somehow communicate through writing. The trio then embarks on their first journey together. They have new clothes too and are disguised as merchants in the town! Honestly, the scene at the Adventurer’s Guild cracked me up. Tomoe and Mio’s powers are so overpowering. Meanwhile, Makoto, our protagonist, is… level 1.
He didn’t level up at all since the first episode! There there, Makoto. You have average looks and poor magic level, but you’ll be fine. Anyway, I was having so much fun that the end caught me off-guard. The episode comes to a close as suspicious strangers approach them…
All in all, Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Episode 3 is a lot of fun. I love the pace and comedy that make it so easy to enjoy. The transitions, historical-drama sound effects, and voice acting is really carrying the show. Although there’s no action this week, we got some world-building developments.
I’m also really enjoying Tomoe and Mio’s company! They’re quite the characters with unique qualities. I honestly believe that this anime is building up to be one of the best this season. From here on forward, we can finally start to see the plot beginning. How will Makoto become a hero in this strange place? I’m so curious!
