The ongoing manga series Black Lagoon had always been suffering from inconsistent publishing schedules. The creator of the manga, Rei Hiroe, commented on the question as to why the series has always been irregularly serialized and said, “It’s just that my depression hasn’t gone away, so I can’t work as much as I’d like.”
Hiroe said that he has been struggling with depression for the past ten years. Although, while creating is tough, he is doing his best and progressing with the manga as much as he can without rushing. Due to his statements, countless fans from all over the world showed their continuously undying support.
Black Lagoon
The ongoing manga series BLACK LAGOON, written and illustrated by Rei Hiroe, started its publication in the Monthly Sunday Gene-X in 2002. In addition, there are a total of 11 volumes as of November 2018.
The series also received an anime adaptation produced by Madhouse under the direction of Sunao Katabuchi (In This Corner of the World). Moreover, it had a total of 2 seasons having 12 episodes each.
The first season premiered on Chiba TV from April 9, 2006, to June 25, 2006. Meanwhile, Sendai Television aired the second season from October 3, 2006, to December 19, 2006.
