5 Fluffy Manga to Warm Up During Cold Evenings

As cold evenings are on the way (or are already here for some of us), there’s nothing better than grabbing a cup of tea and snuggling up in bed. Some of us do that and watch some anime but today, I wanted to recommend 5 fluffy manga series that will warm you up even more.

Note: Series don’t appear in any particular order

Tonikaku Kawaii (Fly Me to the Moon)

Fly Me to the Moon Volume 1 cover

Let’s start with an obvious one. Tonikaku Kawaii is a manga series both drawn and written by Kenjirou Hata. The story focuses on Nasa Yuzaki who wants to become someone better than the space agency that’s also called NASA. Everything was going according to his plans, that is until he met a beautiful girl and fell for her at first sight. Blinded by her beauty, he crosses the street and gets hit by a truck. Well, almost hit as the girl he fell in love with just barely saved him. That’s when he decides to confess. Tsukasa says she’ll accept the confession, but only if Nasa agrees to marry her.

The series focuses on the daily life of the newlyweds as they grow closer and closer. Bundled with cute art, the series is a great “fluffy” read that will surely bring some warmth into your cold evenings. The manga is available for purchase on VIZ Media’s official website. As of now, there are 7 volumes available in English. If you want to, you can also watch the 12-episode-long anime adaptation of the manga that’s available over at Crunchyroll.

Fetiple (What I Love About You) Part 1*

What I Love About You Volume 3 cover

What I Love About You is a manga written and drawn by Zurachy Rurihara. The manga tells the story of Yunoki, who one day wakes up in his bed together with a woman he doesn’t seem to remember. The woman, Kotoka Hatsushima, however, claims that they are a couple. After explaining that she has a back fetish and Yunoki fits the bill, she also tells him that her hair was the thing that sealed the deal for him. He has a hair fetish after all.

We get to follow the relationship of the main protagonists as they learn more about each other. Since they got together while being drunk, they are a pair that has a lot of work in front of them. To top the cuteness and wholesomeness of the story, art is simply amazing. You can buy all of the currently available volumes over at Kodansha USA’s official website.

*After 6 volumes the setting and characters change, that’s why I marked the story about Yunoki and Kotoka as “Part 1”

Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie

Another fluffy manga on the list is Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie by Maki Keigo. We get to follow the daily life of Izumi who’s a high school student whose luck is terrible. Even though it might not seem like a fun story, his girlfriend, Shikimori, is here to save him every time. She’s cute, adorable, and fun to be around… but she also has a cool dark side that surfaces under the right circumstances.

Shikimori’s concern for her boyfriend’s wellbeing is very “fluffy” and great to read through as she becomes cool whenever she’s trying to help Izumi. 7 volumes of the manga are available for purchase on Kodansha USA’s official website. The manga is also set to receive an anime adaptation in April 2022.
