takt op. Destiny Episode 5: Duty and Power

“takt op. Destiny” episode 5 delivers another batch of awesome and visually pleasing action scenes. The music accompaniment really makes it epic. Takt and Destiny seem to be more adept in battle but they’re still ridiculously “direct” with each other. Even though the show follows a serious mood, there are a number of absurd and fun moments. For example, there’s Takt’s inability to change tires, the unbelievably quick brake of the train, and Cosette’s enthusiastic wonder toward sweets.

The episode begins with Takt and Destiny fighting the D2. They accidentally put the train to a full stop and meet another Musicart called Valkyrie. It’s a magnificent name befitting of her character– strong, strict, and dutiful. However, she doesn’t have a Conductor. Things get more interesting when Schindler, the chief conductor from Symphonica, is introduced. In my opinion, he has a very suspicious vibe. Lastly, there’s the alluring and intimidating Musicart called Hell.

“takt op. Destiny” episode 5 continues on as Takt and Destiny’s stubbornness causes trouble for Valkyrie. The action scenes are a delicious treat again! I was so happy seeing Destiny’s new moves and Valkyrie’s swordsmanship. Additionally, Takt showed impressive strength and thinking. Just when we thought the D2 wave was over, a huge one appears. However, Hell steals the show with her crazy fighting prowess. We’ve seen Musicarts with swords and guns, but literal roller blades!? That is just so badass. Hell is by far the most awesome one. Her design is beautiful but at the same time, terrifying.

My favorite part about “takt op. Destiny” episode 5 is the subtle hints of Takt’s personality. There’s more to the blunt, sharp-tongued, piano-obsessed guy that he is. I honestly fangirled internally when he had those protective moments for Cosette. He implies that she isn’t a weapon, and he is more than determined to get to New York City soon. Instant rejection for Schindler.

On that note, I can’t help but compare Schindler with Lenny. Their characters just give off completely opposite vibes. It was terrible that he called Musicarts “weapons,” when they were obviously once human. Which begs the question — What is Symphonica doing exactly!? I really feel like these officials are gonna be a problem in the future. Takt and Destiny need to power up quickly to be on par at least with Hell’s insane strength if the time comes. Maybe Valkyrie could join them now that she’s unemployed? If Takt would have two Musicarts, that would be really interesting. Anyway, next stop — New Orleans!
