The latest film of the Gundam Franchise which was supposed to be released on July 23, 2020, has been postponed by Sunrise. Sunrise announced on Thursday that they have decided to postpone the release of the latest film “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Even though we’ve been proceeding with the preparations as “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway” was scheduled to be released on July 23rd, 2020, we’ve decided to postpone our launching of the movie due to the novel coronavirus outbreaks in Japan,” Sunrise said in their statement.
The film was supposed to release on July 23 in Japan. Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway is the first in the three-part anime film series based on a series of novels created and written by Yoshiyuki Tomino. The films are set in the U.C. 0105 – twelve years after the Second Neo Zeon War.
