Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc Episode 6: Breaking the Limits

Episode 6 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc has been released, and it looks like we’re in for an insane ride until the end of it. This episode brought out a lot of power ups and the insanely animated action we all know and have come to expect from ufotable. Right at the start, the Upper Moon Daki recovered the parts of her that had fought Tengen and the rest, so she became the complete version of herself. Her hair turned white, and she gained on speed and power. As the two fight, they end up alerting the normal humans, who come out and start complaining. This is where Daki shows no mercy, murdering dozens of them and leaving the loudest one without his arm. Tanjiro also suffers a wound, and Daki decides to head to the Hashira she now knows is there. This is what finally triggers the young Demon Slayer to break his limits.

His eyes become red, and he manages to catch up to Daki and stop her in the blink of an eye. The angles of the shots and the soundtrack made for a very hyped scene, and Daki herself took a while to understand what had happened. The special effects and Tanjiro using Hinokami Kagura resemble the scene against Rui. Another interesting thing was the appearance of the mysterious swordsman from Muzan’s past, who was shown to severely resemble Tanjiro. Kazuhiko Inoue joined the cast, and it’s obvious that the demon slayer instilled an absurdly deep fear into Muzan as even the cells inside his underlings can project it. A parallel is drawn between the words Tanjiro says and those Muzan heard before, and it looks like he gains an upper hand.

However, that would be too easy. Just as he’s about to deal what may have been the final blow, we see one of his younger siblings call out to him, reminding him to breathe. Nothing unusual in Demon Slayer, as the connection with the afterlife and deceased characters was already seen before. This is especially true for the Kamado family, whose bonds are consistently shown. As Tanjiro comes back to himself, the recoil from using Hinokami Kagura all along hits him all at once, and he crashes. When Daki goes forward to finish him off, Nezuko comes along and blows her entire head off with a kick. After Daki cuts of her hand and leg, we see Nezuko go mad and bring out a new form. She bites off the bamboo and grows a horn, surprising Daki with the rate of her recovery and quickly overpowering her.

Episode 6 is clearly the first ‘big’ episode of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc, and it’s exciting to think what will happen as Tengen joins the fight along with Zenitsu and Inosuke. You can now vote the episode as the best of week 1 of Winter 2022! The title of episode 7 is “Transformation” and it will release next Sunday on January 16, 2022.
