Platinum End anime revealed a new visual along with additional cast information. The anime started airing on October 8 and is currently on its second cour. Studio Signal.MD is animating the series, which will have a total of 24 episodes.
The new additional cast includes:
- Megumi Han as Susumu Yuito
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Gaku Yoneda
- Daiki Yamashita as Shuji Nakaumi
- Saori Onishi as Yuri Temari
Fumi Hirano, Romi Park, KENN, and Ryota Takeuchi are also joining the cast of Platinum End as Muni, Ogaro, Penema, and Yazeri respectively.
Kazuchika Kise is directing the second half of the series. Kouji Ooya is in charge of character designs, with Shinichi Inotsume overseeing series composition. Masahiro Tokuda is composing the music. The first cour of Platinum End was directed by Hideya Takahashi.
Platinum End is based on a manga by Death Note creators, Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The manga started serialization in Jump Square magazine in 2015. It ended in 2020, after 58 chapters, compiled into 14 volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.
As his classmates celebrate their middle school graduation, troubled Mirai is mired in darkness. But his battle is just beginning when he receives some salvation from above in the form of an angel. Now Mirai is pitted against 12 other chosen humans in a battle in which the winner becomes the next god of the world. Mirai has an angel in his corner, but he may need to become a devil to survive.
