Alice Gear Aegis game is getting an anime adaptation by studio Nomad. The announcement was revealed during a special stream dedicated to the 4th anniversary of the game. A special teaser trailer featuring ZUNTATA’s music was revealed:
This isn’t the first Alice Gear Aegis anime adaptation. In 2021 a 15-minute OVA titled Alice Gear Aegis: Doki! Actress Darake no Mermaid Grand Prix was released. This short episode was also animated by studio Nomad (Koikimo).
In addition to the teaser trailer, the staff listing was also revealed. The majority of the staff also worked on the 2021 OVA and it’s worth noting that ZUNTATA also did the music for it. The TV anime staff includes:
- Director: Hirokazu Hanai
- Series composition: Kenji Sugihara
- Character designs: Kanetake Ebikawa, Fumikane Shimada, Takayuki Yanase (the 3 were credited for original character designs on the OVA), and Rikiya Okano
- Original work: Pyramid
The game is available on Windows, Android, and iOS, but only in Japan, China, including Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Alice Gear Aegis Synopsis
When mysterious mechanical life forms called Weiss arrive into Earth’s atmosphere, humans are forced to build a spaceship using lunar crust and set off into space to avoid extinction. After a long struggle, humanity discovers “higher dimensional energy” which can pierce Weiss’ shields and uses it to create Alice Gear, a special weapon to fight the enemy. But, only young women are able to draw this energy and use it.
Three centuries later, a special anti-Weiss organization called AEGIS oversees to whole Alice Gear project. Women who are able to use it are called “actresses” and use the special powers to fight the Weiss population, which has now drastically decreased.ACN Edit
