Hajime is back at exploring labyrinths in episode 2 Arifureta season 2 after he accepts the quest to mine Stillstones inside the Gruen volcano. However, he must first conquer the Gruen labyrinth.

We all know that Hajime’s journey started with exploring labyrinths. In episode 1 of Arifureta season 1, he and his classmates are trying to explore the “Great Labyrinth of Orcus”, which resulted in the incident that molded the Hajime we see right now. He earned various magical powers and skills. In short, he became overpowered. In the world of Tortus, where they are right now, he is being called “The Irregular”, which was also the title of the first episode of Arifureta season 2. Because of what Hajime became of, he was able to conquer the “Great Labyrinth of Orcus” and obtain its power in season 1. Since Hajime’s goal is to go back to Earth, he must vanquish as many labyrinths as he can to learn more ancient magic. Thus, traversing labyrinths is Hajime’s work throughout the story.
Each labyrinth has its own unique features. For example, the “Great Labyrinth of Orcus” lets you gain battle experiences by defeating tons of monsters, while the “Great Labyrinth of Reisen” tests your ability to respond to various kinds of attacks. In the Gruen labyrinth, it tests how long can you survive intense heat while trying to respond to ambushes or surprise attacks. Well, Hajime and his party took a shortcut to get to the deepest level of the Gruen labyrinth. The episode ended with a cliffhanger, where Hajime took a direct hit of a certain attack. Even Yue couldn’t contain her calm when it was happening.
What will happen to Hajime now that he took a massive blow? What power lies at the end of the Gruen labyrinth? There are still so many questions to be answered. Kaori is still on Ankaji, treating the people who were contaminated by an epidemic. She has still a score to settle with Hajime for kissing Yue behind her back and we all know that Kaori has loved Hajime since middle school. What is she going to do once she learns what happened to Hajime?

Arifureta Season 2 Synopsis
With the addition of Kaori into their party, Hajime and his friends make for Myu’s hometown, the coastal city of Erisen. While crossing the Gruen Desert, they save a young Ankajian man, Bize, from a sandworm attack. Apparently, he was searching for a cure to the mysterious disease that has struck his people. His travels led him to conclude that a mineral known as stillrock held the key to saving his country, but it can only be found inside the Grand Gruen Volcano, a labyrinth far too dangerous for most. Hajime agrees to help Bize procure some, and the party begins their quest to conquer yet another labyrinth. But along the way, they meet a most unexpected foe…
