Fruits Basket: Prelude Gets a 2-Minute Special Video Featuring the Theme Song

Fruits Basket -prelude- movie has received a special video featuring the theme song Niji to Kite (Rainbow and Kite) by Ohashi Trio. The movie started screening in Japanese theatres on February 18, 2022.

Fruits Basket -prelude- is a prequel movie to the series Fruits Basket. It focuses on the story of Tohru’s parents. Yoshimasa Hosoya and Miyuki Sawahiro returned to voice Katsuya and Kyoko. Yoshihide Ibata directed the film, while TMS Entertainment (Rent a Girlfriend) animated it.

Fruits Basket is a Japanese manga series written by Natsuki Takaya. Hakusensha published it from 1998 to 2006, and it had a total of 23 volumes. The same publisher also serialized a manga sequel titled Fruits Basket Another and a side story titled Fruits Basket: The Three Musketeers Arc. Studio Deen worked on a 26-episode anime adaptation in 2001 under director Akitaro Daichi. Another anime aired from 2019 to 2021, and it had a total of 63 episodes (3 seasons). Director Ibata and TMS Entertainment are also the ones who worked on the previous anime adaptation.
