My Dress-Up Darling episode 7 is another bundle of fun as Gojo visits Marin’s house. They are both secretly nervous about it, but Marin is especially giddy for Gojo. In preparation for Juju’s cosplay commission, Gojo stays over to binge-watch the anime. (It’s only 126 episodes, after all. Something veteran anime fans would definitely understand.) The episode is titled, “Holy Crap, I’m on a Date at Home With the Guy I Wuv.”
It begins where we left off last week — Marin convincing the great Juju for a cosplay collaboration! It’s cute how she gives in after they suggest splitting the studio fee. That means the Marin-Juju cosplay collab is a go! It’s also funny how Juju discovers how detailed and dedicated Gojo is in his creative process. I’m amazed at his notes and all, but more importantly, the research! He almost shared some really dangerously juicy stuff there. Ahh, Gojo, a polite man of culture. Ha-ha-ha!
Doing the cosplay costume, make-up, and the in-betweens actually improved Gojo’s crafts in Hinda-dolls. His experience translated well into his work, and hearing Gramps’ acknowledgment of that makes my heart full. Another wholesome moment.
My favorite part of My Dress-Up Darling episode 7 is the friendly house visit. First, we have Gojo as a bundle of nerves. The tension rises and disperses, however, when Marin appears in her revealing nightie. And then, she becomes flustered about the fact that she has no colored contacts on! (Girl, what!?) It even gets better when Gojo sees her room, and his reaction is just priceless. Second, we have Marin who is also a bundle of excitement for the whole “date” situation. From her stealing glances at Gojo, to her omurice daydreaming, and to all her internal ramblings — all of it proves that she’s the most endearing girl in wuv ever.
You know what? I’ll say it again — everything about Marin and Gojo’s relationship is absolutely precious and cute. I really appreciate how CloverWorks is doing such a great job. They’re really giving a lot of love to the production of this series. The energy of it all is super fun, unique, and overall refreshing to watch! I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of fangirling.
Another part of the episode that I genuinely enjoyed is watching the Flower Princess Blaze anime. It got me hooked and invested! I love the traditional style and the references they make. To be honest, the fan speculation thing got me because I remembered my childhood with Card Captor Sakura.
Lastly, the episode doesn’t end without a cosplay tip! The great Juju shares her eye shape hack, and I find myself in awe of cosplayers all over again. We also learn that Juju’s sister, Shinju, takes photos. My Dress-Up Darling episode 7 closes with her hilarious reveal. If you’re like me and enjoyed the episode, don’t forget to vote for this anime in our weekly polls!
The next episode will air on Saturday, February 26, at 24:00 JST. The English subtitled versions will also be available later on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Bilibili in select regions.
