The long-awaited Date a Live IV has revealed a character trailer featuring the new spirit, Nia Honjo, during the AnimeJapan 2022. The series will premiere on April 8, 2022. Studio GEEKTOYS (Date a Bullet) is animating the series, while Jun Nakagawa (High School Fleet) is directing. The trailer features the ending theme “S.O.S” by sweet ARMS:
Nia Honjo is a spirit new spirit with the codename, “Sister”, and is also popular manga artist with the pen name “Soji Honjo”. She was the second spirit to appear on Earth. By chance, she had an encounter with Shido and she already knew his identity. Nia also seems to have a connection with the DEM and the angel she is wielding is “Raziel”.

In addition to sweet ARMS’ song, Miyu Tomita is performing the anime’s opening song titled “OveR“. The anime was originally set to premiere in October 2021 but it was delayed.
A light novel by Koshi Tachibana received an anime adaptation by Studio AIC+ in 2013. The second season titled Date a Live II was animated by studio Production IMS in 2014. In 2015, a movie titled Date a Live: Mayuri Judgement had a theatrical release in Japan. Season 3 of the series titled Date a Live III was animated by J.C. Staff in 2019. Keitaro Motonaga (School Days) is the one who directed all of it. In 2020, two movies titled Date A Bullet: Dead or Bullet and Date A Bullet: Nightmare or Queen premiered in Japan under director Nakagawa.

Fujimi Shobo serialized Koshi Tachibana’s Date a Live light novel from 2011 to 2020. The light novel that features Tsunako’s illustrations has a total of 22 volumes. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English:
