Black Clover Manga Goes on Hiatus, Final Arc Is in the Works

Black Clover manga is going on a hiatus, that is expected to last for around 3 months. The hiatus is happening so that the author, Yuki Tabata, is able to prepare for the next chapter and the final arc of the series. The news was announced on the Shonen Jump website, where is manga also being serialized. The Weekly Shonen Jump Editorial department signed the notice which states that the readers will be informed about the continuation, once the return date is decided.

Yuki Tabata commented on the Black Clover hiatus:
I personally wished to keep going without taking a break, but after discussing things with the editorial department, we decided that I should take a long break to give me more time to create the final arc. I apologize to those who look forward to reading the new chapters each week. But I plan to do my best to make Black Clover as good as it can be and give it a proper conclusion. So, I’d appreciate it if you could just wait a little longer.

Black Clover manga has been being serialized weekly in the Shonen Jump magazine since 2015. The latest, 331st chapter titled “And Time Starts to Move” was released on April 24 and is available to read on Shueisha’s Manga Plus website in English. Viz Media, the English licensor for the work, describes the plot as:
Young Asta was born with no magic ability in a world where magic is everything. In order to prove his strength and keep a promise with his friend, Asta dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the land, the Wizard King!

The manga received an anime adaptation by studio Pierrot in 2017. The anime ran until 2021 and ended after 170 episodes. A movie is currently in production. Before Pierrot’s adaptation, the work received a special episode for Jump Festa 2016 by studio I.Gzwei.
