We were able to witness a new version of Shido and the spirits in episode 5 of Date a Live IV. They were sucked into a world that was made by Beelzebub where they couldn’t use their spiritual powers. They find themselves in weird clothes and at least they’re still strong enough to overcome the obstacles they encountered. The majority of the scenes in this episode were not really that important. It only revolved around Shido, and the spirits trying to find a way to go back to their original world.
The world they were in is a combination of different stories that exist in the real world such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Three Little Pigs, The Little Mermaid, and more. Some of the mangas that were written by Nia were also included. Of course, it means that the manga that was made by Shido and the spirits was included. As a result, they met the Shido from the manga in that world, and they were able to go back to the real world because of him. Though his appearance was the most important scene in the episode. As you can see, Mukuro’s words from the previous episode made Shido feel miserable to the point that he is not sure if saving the spirits is the right choice. In this episode, The words of Shido from the manga made the real Shido go back to his feet, and the episode ended with the real Shido, determined to save Mukuro.
