Science Saru’s upcoming original anime Yurei Deco revealed a new trailer and visual. It will start airing on July 3 this year. The original anime was first announced by the studio in February of this year.
Tomohisa Shimoyama is directing the series, and Dai Sato serving as the series’ editor. Dai Sato and Kimiko Ueno serve as screenwriters, while Fumitaka Akai serves as the art director. An opening theme was also revealed titled “1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 LOVE” by clammbon, arranged by DÉ DÉ MOUSE.
For me, the world is a very colorful place right now, filled with all kinds of information. YUREI DECO is a fantasy story about that kind of near-future.
There’s a kind of surprise that comes from having things you take for granted re-contextualised, which allows you to see things you never saw before. For example, say you’re on your commute, and because you’re not feeling motivated you end up taking a detour that leads to discovering some lovely scenery. You’ve never seen before, which cheers you up.

The citizens of the data-managed society of Tom Sawyer Island use the sensory immersion technology called Deco in order to interact with the virtual spaces known as the Hyperverse as part of their daily lives. The Love score is used to accredit everything on the island and its citizens spend their lives in pursuit of Love. But the island is often plagued by cases where all Love values are voided. This is the ‘Zero Phenomenon’ thought to be caused by the mysterious Phantom Zero! One day, a girl named Berry meets Hack and the crew, who call themselves ‘gh0sts’. In order to solve the mystery of the Phantom Zero and the Zero Phenomenon, they form the Yurei Detective Club. And in time, Berry will discover the island’s secrets…
