Science SARU studio announced a new original anime titled Yurei Deco earlier today. The anime is set to start broadcasting in the summer of 2022, but the details about the story and the staff weren’t revealed. A short announcement/teaser video was uploaded on the studio’s official Twitter account twice with messages both in Japanese and English. The studio promises to “deliver a lot of love” to everyone. A cryptic 11/11 message is also featured in both the teaser and the tweet:
In addition to the announcement, a Twitter account for Yurei Deco anime is now also in function under @YUREIDECO.
Science SARU was founded in 2013 by animator and director Masaki Yuasa and producer Eunyoung Choi. Two of the studio’s most recent works are The Heike Story TV anime and two episodes (6 and 9) in the Star Wars: Visions anthology. The studio is most often tied to Masaki Yuasa, who is a well-known name among anime fans having directed many popular titles such as The Tatami Galaxy. At Science SARU he directed The Night is Short, Walk On Girl, Lu Over the Wall, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Ride Your Wave, Devilman: Crybaby, Japan Sinks 2020, and most recently the Inu-Oh, which is set to have a theatrical release this year. Although Yuasa stepped down as the president of Science SARU in 2020, he still confirmed that he plans to keep working with the studio.
