Sasaki and Miyano anime series is getting a movie, titled Sasaki and Miyano Graduation Edition, along with a new short focusing on Hirano and Kagiura. Both will be screened together in 2023.
The staff from the TV anime is returning and includes:

- Screenplay: Yoshiko Nakamura
- Character Designer: Maki Fuji
- Music: Kana Shibue
- Animation Production: Studio DEEN
The main cast is also returning for the movie:
- Soma Saito as Yoshikazu Miyano
- Yusuke Shirai as Shumei Sasaki
- Yuma Uchida as Masato Hanazawa
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano
- Ryohei Arai as Tasuku Kuresawa
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Akira Kagiura
- Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Gonzaburo Tashiro
In addition to the TV anime, and the newly announced movie and Hirano and Kagiura short, the Sasaki and Miyano series is also getting a special bonus episode on July 29.
The anime is based on a manga by Shou Harusono. The manga has been serialized on pixiv Comic platform. Media Factory publishes it in volume format. Yen Press is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!
A spin-off manga titled Hirano to Kagiura (Hirano and Kagiura) by the same author is currently ongoing in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine.
