The Sword Art Online franchise now has a stage play titled Sword Art Online: Dive to Stage. The play is part of the anime’s 10th-anniversary project and will be held at the Tokyo International Forum from November 8 to November 16, 2022. A key visual for the event has been revealed:
The stage play will revolve around the events on the Aincrad arc (SAO anime season 1 first cour). Rin Matsubara will be playing the role of the protagonist, Kirigaya Kazuto, popularly known as Kirito. The main heroine, Asuna Yuuki, will be played by Minami Tsukui. The recorded lines in the show will be based on the original lines of the characters in the anime’s first season. E-Plus is now having an advanced selling of theatre tickets, and it will last until October 16, 2022. The general selling of tickets will be on October 30, 2022.
The franchise will also have an event titled Sword Art Online: Full Dive on November 6, 2022, which is also the day the story began in the original anime. The series marked its 10th anniversary on July 8, 2022.

ASCII Media Works has been serializing Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series with abec’s illustrations since 2009, and it currently has 27 volumes in circulation. Yen Press licensed the original Sword Art Online light novel series in English.
