The upcoming Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre anime has revealed a key visual, along with titles of four more stories that will be adapted, as well as cast and stills for each of them. The anime will be released on Netflix on January 19, 2023.
Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre‘s newly-added stories are Ice Cream Truck, Tomb Town, Library Vision, and Headless Statue. Previously, Netflix and Junji Ito revealed that Tomie, Souichi, and The Hanging Balloons will be a part of the new anime that is centered around iconic mangaka’s works.
The anime also recently revealed some of the voice actors that will appear in the series. The new cast includes:

- Sara Matsumoto
- Takatsugu Chikamatsu
- Ryohei Kimura
- M・A・O
- Aya Uchida
- Yuki Kaji
- Tomoe Hanba
- Fumiko Orikasa
- Takashi Kondo

Junji Ito Maniac: Tales of the Macabre was first announced during the Netflix Geeked Week 2022 event in June this year. The anime is the newest addition to the growing collection of Junji Ito’s works that have been animated. In 2018, Junji Ito “Collection” aired during the Winter anime season and was animated by Studio DEEN. Uzumaki is also being adapted into an anime, but the release date is still unknown.
Junji Ito is known for his horror manga titles such as Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror, Gyo, Tomie, The Enigma of Amigara Fault, and Remina.
