New original anime, titled Buddy Daddies, is coming our way. P.A. Works is in charge of the animation and Nitroplus is working on the story, which follows two assassins (who happen to be roommates) as they met their most formidable target. The air date has been set for January 2023. The staff includes:
- Director: Yoshiyuki Asai (Fate/Apocrypha, Charlotte)
- Original Story: Vio Shimokura (Nitroplus) (Tokyo 24th Ward)
- Series Composition: Yuko Kakihara (Orange, The Aquatope on White Sand, Urusei Yatsura (2022)), Vio Shimokura
- Original Character Design: Katsumi Enami (Baccano!)
- Music: Katsutoshi Kitagawa (ROUND TABLE) (Nyamen)
Cast has been revealed as well. Toshiyuki Toyonaga is voicing Kazuki Kurusu, Koki Uchiyama is Rei Suwa and Hina Kino is Miri Unasaka. The plot follows Kazuki, an assassin with excellent communication skills who loves women and gambling. Rei is his coworker and roommate, but is the complete opposite, having never known love. In stark contrast with them, Miri is a young girl whose father is a mafia boss.
P.A. Works is an anime studio, best-known for its adaptations of Another, Ya Boy Kongming!, Shirobako and more. Nitroplus (stylized as NITRO PLUS_ is a visual novel developer, known for Phantom of Inferno, Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa, and Smile of the Arsnotoria, among others. They are known for their dark themes and eroge visual novels. NITRO PLUS also has a Nitro+Chiral subsidiary, which focuses on Boys’ Love content (DRAMAtical Murder) and has collaborated with TYPE-MOON in the past on the infamous Fate/Zero light novel series.
