Chainsaw Man manga author Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Twitter account has been locked due to breaking the platform’s rules on age restriction. The account impersonated Koharu Nagyama (@nagayama_koharu), a third-grade elementary school student who is Fujimoto’s “little sister.” The Chainsaw Man manga’s editor, Shinhei Lin, revealed that they were working with Twitter to restore the account. The manga creator live-tweeted his reactions on the fifth episode of the Chainsaw Man anime by “borrowing” the account from her on Wednesday.
Before the lock, Koharu Nagayama’s profile description said “I’m Koharu Nagyama, a third-grade student in elementary school. I created this Twitter account in a class. I like Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man. Nice to meet you.” In Japan, children at the age of 8 or 9 are third-grade students in elementary school. The Twitter account of Nagyama Koharu is currently unavailable on the platform with “This account doesn’t exist” message.
In the editor’s post, Shinhei Lin refers to Koharu Nagayama as “Tatsuki Fujimoto-sensei’s sister” and reveals “her brother” is currently reaching out to the Twitter company for the matter. He concludes the tweet by asking for fans to wait a while for her account to be back and tweet, along with a message to Twitter: “Dear Mr. Twitter, Inc, I’d greatly appreciate your support!“
Twitter’s official website states in “About account restoration” that the service “requires people using the service to be 13 years of age or older. If you signed up for an account before you were 13 years old, and now meet our minimum age requirement, you can regain access to your account by removing some data.” The page notes that “When accounts are unlocked it can sometimes take up to 24 hours or so for follower and following counts to return to normal.“

Animation studio MAPPA is animating the Chainsaw Man anime based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 with a total of 11 volumes. The series’ second part is being published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump +. The series surpassed 16 million circulating copies with the 12th volume’s release on October 4. The anime adaptation was chosen as Anime Corner’s most anticipated Anime of Fall 2022 by fans.
