It was announced that the Japanese band Homecomings will perform the ending theme song of the upcoming anime adaptation of Insomniacs After School. The ending theme song is titled “Laps”.
The band is composed of members Yuki Fukutomi, Honami Fukuda, Ayaka Tatamino, and Narumi Ishida. The band was also responsible for the theme song of the 2018 anime film Liz and the Blue Bird titled “Songbirds”.
“The town where I lived by the sea is famous for its many cloudy days, but strangely enough, at night we could see many stars, and my mother used to tell me the names of the stars by the front door. I wrote a song for our long, quiet nights together with the scent of the dignified air at that time. I am very honored to be involved in such a wonderful work set in Ishikawa Prefecture, where I grew up. I would like to learn the name of one more star next time I return home.”

Insomniacs After School will premiere in April this year, and will be animated by Studio LIDENFILMS. Yuki Ikeda is directing the anime. Rintaro Ikeda is doing the series composition, with Hiroki Fukuda as the character designer. Yuki Hayashi is composing the music. The cast for the anime includes:

Insomniacs After School is based on a manga by Makoto Ojiro. The manga started serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comics Spirits magazine in 2019. Viz recently licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Dark rumors about what befell the members of the astronomy club keep people away from the school observatory, and that’s what makes it the perfect sanctuary for Nakami and Magari to get some much-needed rest. Unfortunately, the school faculty can’t allow its unsanctioned use. But if there were a new astronomy club, maybe these two insomniacs could have a place to call home!
