Liar Liar anime adaptation revealed a new trailer earlier today. The anime begins broadcasting this July. Studio Geektoys is animating it under Satoru Ono and Naoki Matsuura’s direction.
The cast can be heard in the trailer and it includes:
- Yukina Shuto as Shirayuki Himeji
- Wakana Kuramochi as Sarasa Saionji
- Genta Nakamura as Hiroto Shinahura
- Rika Tachibana as Noa Akizuki
- Yurika Moriyama as Tsumugi Shiina
- Hibiki Yamamura as Ami Kagaya
- Hoko Kuwashima as Natsume Ichinose
- Mai Mochizuki as Yuuki Tsuji
- Momoko Seto as Fuuka Tatara
- Jun Fukuyama as Kugasaki Seiran
- Sora Tokui as Kazami Suzuran
- Junya Enoki as Enomoto Shinji
- Saori Onishi as Asamiya Nanase
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Haruki Kuo and illustrated by konomi. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English: the first volume is coming later year. The story is set at Academy Island, where everything is settled through special games. These games use a currency called “stars” and the strongest student is granted a special title and rank of Seven Stars. Hiroto Shinohra transfers to the school and somehow manages to beat the strongest girl in the school. As he is now seen as the strongest he has to keep up with the title and so mind games filled with bluffing and lies begin! Will he make it out and keep his title?
