The new trailer of the upcoming Liar Liar anime showed off the theme songs. The opening theme is “Lies Goes On” by May’n, while the ending theme is “Faky Merry Game” by Smile Princess. The anime is set to premiere on July 8 this year.
Satoru Ono and Naoki Matsuura are directing the Liar Liar anime adaptation. Yumi Nakamura is the character designer, while Momoka Toyoda is in charge of the series composition. The cast for the anime includes:

- Wakana Kuramochi as Sarasa Saionji
- Yukina Shuto as Shirayuki Himeji
- Hibiku Yamamura as Ami Kagaya
- Hoko Kuwashima as Natsume Ichinose

- Junya Enoki as Shinji Enomoto
- Mai Mochizuki as Yuki Tsuji
- Momoko Seto as Fūka Tatara
- Rika Tachibana as Noa Akizuki
- Saori Onishi as Nanase Asamiya
- Sora Tokui as Suzuran Kazami
- Yurika Moriyama as Tsumugi Shiina
Studio GEEKTOYS is animating the Liar Liar anime, which is based Haruki Kuo’s light novel with art by konomi. The light novel is being published under KADOKAWA’s light novel label MF Bunko J. It released the first volume in April 2019 and the latest, 12th, volume is scheduled to be released on November 25. The manga adaptation by Funa Yukina has been ongoing in KADOKAWA’s Monthly Comic Alive since August 2019.
Yen Press has licensed the Liar Liar light novel in English, describing its plot as:
The Academy—a school the size of an island where students compete for ranks. Not only did Hiroto Shinohara pass the most rigorous exam in the country with top marks to transfer there, but he defeated last year’s reigning champ on his very first day, catapulting him to the rank of Seven Star in record time. …Except he didn’t. The truth is, he screwed up big time, and now he has to maintain his position there no matter what. It’s a liar’s world, after all!
