Who Made Me a Princess Gets Donghua Adaptation

Who Made Me a Princess is getting an animated adaptation in the form of a donghua (Chinese anime). Studio Colored Pencil Animation will be animating the series. The premiere date has been set for 2024. A teaser trailer was uploaded on IQIYI.

The popular series ranked 7th in this year’s AniRank: Manga We Want To See Animated list.

Who Made Me a Princess is a webtoon based on a Korean novel by Pluto and illustrated by Spoon. Originally published by CARROTOON, it was first serialized on Ridibooks. Tappytoon serialized the webtoon in English (the webtoon ran from 2017 to 2022). It’s important to note that the web novel and webtoon differ in some story aspects. The webtoon platform describes the plot as:

The beautiful Athanasia was killed at the hands of her own biological father, Claude de Alger Obelia, the cold-blooded emperor! It’s just a silly bedtime story… until one woman wakes up to suddenly find she’s become that unfortunate princess! She needs a plan to survive her doomed fate, and time is running out. Will she go with Plan A, live as quietly as possible without being noticed by the infamous emperor? Plan B, collect enough money to escape the palace? Or will she be stuck with plan C, sweet-talking her way into her father’s good graces?!
