The Horimiya manga by Daisuke Hagiwara will be releasing volume 17 on July 18, which will feature 4 new chapters and be titled “A piece of memories”. Three of those will be chapters by Daisuke Hagiwara not shown in the previous volumes, and they will also be serialized for three months in Monthly G Fantasy from the August issue. The 4th one will be an original chapter by the creator HERO. The volume will also include an extensively revised “Hori’s Version” of the final chapter, which was shown at the “Horimiya Exhibition” held in Summer 2021.

In addition, the volume will also include Daisuke Hagiwara Twitter Art Book series’ third installment, titled “Memorial Book Bonus Track,” which will consist of Horimiya illustrations shared by the artist on their personal Twitter account.

Hiroki Adachi first published Hori-san to Miyamura-kun on her website, Dokkai Ahen, under the pen name HERO in 2007. The romantic comedy manga was originally a 4-koma series – a comic strip, consisting of four panels. Square Enix acquired the manga the following year and began releasing it officially.

In 2011, Daisuke Hagiwara adapted the series into a new manga titled Horimiya, which retold the original series in a typical manga format with a new art style. It received a TV anime adaptation, which had a similar art style to Daisuke Hagiwara’s version of the manga. It ran for 12 episodes and skipped parts of the manga to adapt the ending. A new Horimiya anime season titled Horimiya: The Missing Pieces (Horimiya -piece-) is set to premiere in July.

Crunchyroll has announced that they will be streaming the Horimiya: The Missing Pieces anime from July, along with several other titles. You can also read our interview with the Horimiya anime director Masashi Ishihama.
