The Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie revealed a character trailer for Yuno ahead of the film’s June 19 release. Studio Pierrot is handling the animation production with series director Ayataka Tanemura returning to reprise the same role for the film. The film will be streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix. Fans can watch Yuno’s trailer below:
The Black Clover movie was originally set to release on March 31 but was ultimately delayed due to production issues caused by COVID-19. Alongside Tanemura, Ai Orii and Johnny Onda are handling the screenplay for the film. Itsuko Takeda is in charge of the character designs for the film and Minako Seki the music. A character trailer for Asta was released last week which fans can also watch below.
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King is an anime original story that isn’t canon to the manga. Series creator Yuki Tabata supervised the movie and created the designs for the past Wizard Kings who will be shown throughout the film. The cast list for the past Wizard Kings is the following:
- Toshihiko Seki as Conrad
- Fumiya Takahashi as Jester Galandros
- Houchu Ohtsuka as Edward
- Marie Iitoyo as Milly Maxwell
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Princia

Black Clover Manga
Written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata, Black Clover first began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine back in 2015 and has since released a total of 34 volumes with Volume 35 on the way. VIZ Media picked up the English license for the series and has published the first 32 volumes with Volume 33 slated to release on November 7.
The Black Clover manga currently has over 18 million copies in circulation as of March 2023.
VIZ Media describes the plot of Black Clover as such:
Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem—he can’t use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can’t use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing’s for sure—Asta will never give up!
