A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 Reveals Main Trailer and New Key Visual, July 8 Premiere

A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 revealed the main trailer and new key visual, along with confirming a July 8 premiere date.

Studio Okuruto Noboru is in charge of the animation, with Masakazu ‌Hishida as the director. Jo ‌Aoba is in charge of the series composition, with Kyoko ‌Kon as the character designer and Rei ‌Ishizuka as the music composer.

The opening theme is “Kimi ga Kureta Mono” (“What You Gave Me”) by asmi, and you can hear a preview below:

Hina Yomiya recently joined the voice cast as Ai Mochizuki, and the ending theme song “Anata ‌de ‌nakucha” by 22/7 was revealed. You can see the new key visual below:

The first season premiered in April 2022 and was animated by Studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP. Yoshiyuki Shirahata directed the anime, with Hiroaki Akagi as the chief animation director. The main cast includes:

• Akari Kito as Erika Amano
• Kaito Ishikawa as Nagi Umino
• Nao Toyama as Hiro Segawa
• Konomi Kohara as Sachi Umino

Miki Yoshikawa writes and draws the A Couple of Cuckoos manga series. It was first published as a one-shot manga in September 2019, before starting serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in January 2020. Kodansha licensed the manga in English, describing the story:
16-year-old super-studier Nagi Umino, second-year student at the Meguro River Academy high school, was switched at birth. On his way to a dinner to meet his birth parents, he accidentally meets the brash, outspoken, Erika Amano, who is determined to make Nagi her fake boyfriend as she never wants to actually marry. But once Nagi makes it to dinner, he finds his parents have decided to resolve the hospital switch by conveniently having him marry the daughter his birth parents raised…who turns out to be none other than Erika herself!
